    Comparison
Overall, I think I match the personable needs the employer is looking for. Retail work is a lot about engaging and connecting with the customer, which I am confident in my ability to do. I handle stressful situations maturely, and I am also confident that my oral and written language skills are up to par with the employer’s expectations. As for some of the certifications I don’t have yet, these would be my weakest selling points. I would counter by stressing my desire to get them, and would make immediate actions to do so.

I would consider myself pretty qualified for this job. They don’t have a lot of requirements and I imagine that you would be working in the back of a warehouse with little human interaction. I would definitely show up on time and I’m sure I would learn how to package the boxes pretty quickly. I’m over 18 and live close by to the warehouse so I really don’t see any issues in getting this job unless a lot of people were applying for it.

Volunteer experience at a kids picnics and events

Detail oriented thinking and a willingness to listen and accommodate the children

I think my strongest points come from my education, as it shows knowledge/dedication to working with kids. However, not having any previous outdoor/counseling experience is a weak point. In another one of their ads, it mentioned that they were looking for a ceramics instructor, and while my experience with poetry wheels is limited I think having someone with a more creative focus is something they’d appreciate. Overall, it seems like they’re looking for someone who’s open to listening and putting in the work to create a positive environment for the campers.

  6. Employer is looking for: a leader, career-minded, motivated, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build a team that works well together, provide superior customer service, passion for being the best in the business, role model, at least 1 year restaurant experience.

My weakest skills are likely to be career minded, as this job has nothing to do with my degree. The most important skills to the employer are the prior work experience as well the strong leadership qualities that are necessary to be a manager.

There are certain certifications and qualifications that I do not meet yet, but those can and will be attained and worked towards.

Worked at a landscaping company for a summer, being flexible as well as not afraid to get down and dirty. Not afraid to do the grunt work
    Not afraid to move

I think overall some of my strongest skills would be communicating with others and not being afraid to do the dirty work when needed. I’ve worked under pressure before, so there is barely any stress in my tool belt. I’m also pretty flexible in terms of working in different environments quickly. The degree and minor are still things that need to be completed, but with time those things will be done. I think an employer would be interested in the skills and qualifications that I have presented forward. There are still skills and qualities that are in the works, but like I said with time these things will be completed.

    Comparison:
I think I do fit the qualifications for this position. I have a lot of background in working with a small team where communication is key. I have strong verbal and written communication, and I am personally very scheduled-oriented, so I would excel in that task. I also have experience scheduling people for experiences. I am also outgoing and can quickly strike up conversations with strangers.

  11. Skills required:
    Ability to follow environmental policies
    Understanding of current environmental concern
    Ability to communicate to public

Environmental major with writing/ communications minor?
Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to new places
    Ability to publicly communicate
    Understanding of environmental concerns
Taking a class on environmental policies

Some of my strong points for this job would be the course’s I am taking, they correlate well with what I think this employer would like to see. I’m flexible and understanding and about 8.5/10 times I can meet a deadline. However that is something that needs to probably be 10/10 if I am working for some magazine company so I will work on that. They would also probably like to see some prior experience including internships. This is something that I don’t yet have but could achieve in the future. Currently I am a writing tutor at sasc so maybe the editorial staff at this company may like seeing that at least. A lot of the things I am missing could be achieved if I put my mind to it.

    – Communication
    – Patient Care

    MY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
-Currently a student at the University of New England studying nursing with a minor in writing
    – EMT for UNE EMS
    – Experience with patient care in a prehospital, EMS setting
    – Caregiver for medically complex twin toddlers, working under the direction of an RN in a home-care setting
-EMT at a summer camp where I organized children’s medications, administered medications that were oral, nasal, and intramuscular injections, treated minor wounds, illnesses, and injuries
    – Experience with emergency situations
    – Experience working as an inter-professional team/communicating efficiently and effectively with other medical professionals (EMTs, RNs and CNAs)

    POINTS/MATCHES:
Some of my skills that align most strongly with the interests that are most important to the employer, are as follows. First, my licensure and certification requirements. I am both BLS certified and I have an NREMT license. Second, would be my experience working in a health care environment with both the medically complex toddlers I provide care for and my experience providing emergency care as an EMT on campus. Areas where I may be weakest in terms of qualification is my lack of experience in working with the actual patient transport portion of prehospital care. With UNE EMS, we do not have an ambulance, so we provide prehospital care and work with Biddeford Fire Department who will transport patients that we deem in need of hospital care. However, I am trained under my licensure to provide such care, I just have not yet had to apply it to a real world experience/role.

  13. Required Qualifications:
    • Members must be US citizen or Permanent Resident, as required to comply with U.S. government contracts

    – Undergraduate studying marine science and marine affairs
    – positive and enthusiastic personality
    – work well with others including leadership and team involvement skills
    – self-driven and organized so perform well individually
    – fieldwork experience
    – proficient swimmer
    – strong writing/communication skills
some experience operating a small watercraft

    Comparison:
My personal qualifications/skills align with this employer’s required qualifications pretty well. My strongest asset for this job is my enthusiastic yet professional manner which is exactly what they’re looking for in a representative of their organization, as well as my ability to be both self-directed and work alone, and be a positive, contributing (often leading) member of a group. My weakest qualification for this position is my lack of experience operating motorized watercrafts. If they need me in a boat I have no problem rowing or paddling a canoe/kayak, but I’ve never driven a motorized boat. However, their description does say “willingness to learn how to operate a small watercraft,” which I’m more than happy to do. Overall, this seems like a good entry-level job that I qualify for and would do well in just with the experience I’ve gained in my first two years of college.
