  1. Dear Mr.Seaside,
I am writing to express my interest in the FRCE camp counselor position for this summer. With over 5 years of experience being a camper at Seaside, I believe I can bring inside perspective to the leadership position.
This fall, I will be attending the University of New England with a major in early childhood education. Since the age of 14 I have had a passion for working with kids. My first job was babysitting 4 siblings between the ages of 4 and 10, and I continued to do that until this past spring, where I now hope to gain experience in a more professional and organized setting. In my time as a babysitter, I learned how to deescalate situations, communicate to young children, and how to creatively engage them.
As a camp leader, I would be using examples from my camper years, as well as ideas of my own, to teach campers empathy, collaboration, and ethics, all while maintaining the level of fun all campers expect from Seaside.
Thank you for considering my application, I look forward to the opportunity to further discuss my goals as a day camp counselor. I can be reached at (518)-555-1188, or emailed at alivingston1@une.edu.

    Sincerely,
    Alexa Livingston

  2. Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in becoming a camp counselor and joining the Camp Seaside team. After reading your advertisement in the Portland Press Herald, I was eager to bring my enthusiasm to this essential community-serving position.

Currently enrolled at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, I am pursuing a major in English and Political Science as well as a minor in Writing. Exploring a range of studies has been an excellent chance to take control of my learning, engage in organizational and time management skills, and get involved in extracurricular activities. Starting a club, for instance, has bolstered my communication and leadership skills in a hands-on setting.

Throughout my four years of high school, babysitting for one family allowed for a special opportunity to expand my abilities working with children of different ages. When I began working, the two siblings were 4 and 7 years old, then 8 and 11 at the end of my time with them. As a camp counselor, these years of practical learning, from managing their daily activities to resolving conflicts, will be a great asset – allowing campers to have the best and most positive experience possible.

Thank you for your time and consideration of my application, and I look forward to assisting you further throughout this process. I have provided my personal phone number and email address below; please feel free to reach out at your convenience.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Elia O’Hara

  8. Dear Camp Seaside Manager,

I am contacting you to show my interest in the current position you have available, which is the camp counselor position. With that being said I would like to share with you my qualifications.

I hope you find comfort in that I have had five years of experience in babysitting. The family that I have been watching over has four children, so I have no problem juggling multiple personalities at the same time. While at this job I can say firmly that energy/stamina will not be a problem.

While being in charge it is my responsibility to communicate with a positive attitude as well as plan activities to keep them busy throughout the day. Working with the kids has provided me with excellent work ethic skills by making sure everyone gets along with one another. These are just some of the attributes I hope to contribute to the Camp Seaside Team.

Thank you for going out of your way to address this application. I am available for an interview anytime whether that be online or in person at any time. But communication in advance would be helpful to move around babysitting predetermined schedules. Thank for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.

  9. Dear Freeport Recreation & Community Education Summer Camp,

Subject: Application for the Camp Counselor position as seen in the local newspaper.

This letter is serving as my formal application for the camp counselor position at Freeport Recreation & Community Education Summer Day Camp.

I have experience in babysitting and regularly take care of up to four children at a time. I work hard to create a safe and positive environment for them to thrive and learn while under my care. At the end of these babysitting sessions, I make the effort to sit down with the parents and go over the day so they know as much about their child’s day as possible. We regularly spend lots of time outside and at local parks, so I’ve become skilled at keeping track of them during activities without limiting their fun.

I absolutely love working with kids and pride myself on building fun, exciting spaces on a foundation of mutual respect. Above all, the children need someone they feel comfortable communicating with, and I aim to provide just that.

If there are any further questions, I’m happy to answer them at (303)-XXX-XXXX or at my email DXXXXX@une.edu. I am also free for a personal interview throughout the week, at your convenience.

    Thank you,
    Daphne Wilkerson
