  1. So far I would say that our project is going pretty well and I am content with the progress we have made. As a group we work pretty well together and when it’s time to actually get stuff done we have been able to do it. I think if we could improve on one thing it could be organization and word choice. By word choice I mean what we put where and how to properly phrase things. However that is all part of the process and as we continue to work on this project the development will happen. As of right now it kind of seems like we all have similar roles in the group. During last class we just spent all our in class work time nit picking through our brochure making little edits and adding things here and there. There doesn’t seem to be one particular person doing more than the other however if I were to put one person in charge I would pick Ben. He seems to be writing things down in a little bit more organized that makes me view him that way. Either way we are all putting in a good effort and are all excited to see the final product of what we create.

  2. I am really happy with the way my group and I have been able to make progress on this project. We have been able to get what needs to get done, done, while also having fun creating our product. So far I feel like we all have very similar roles, as we’re all sort of doing everything. I would say Ben is the most organized out of us all though, and he found the template we’re using. My group has consistently been able to work well together and we have all be open to each others ideas, which I really enjoy.

  3. I would like to say that the project is moving smoothly although I think we are a little behind schedule. We have picked out our slogan, our name and our brochure template and we have a shared google doc where we are answering the five check in questions and also sharing several images on what we believe the product should look like. Some things we still have to work out are how heavy the product is going to be and what kinda approaches we are going to take while marketing the product. Here were our responses to the check in questions basically like an outline of what we are planning on doing.

  4. I think this project is going well – as of now I would say there aren’t specific roles, but I’ve taken on the job of creating the graphics for the product. We have a pretty solid idea of everything our product is going to be, the only hurdle left is porting that idea into the brochure and tidying everything up. In terms of the later half of the journal, if I was working collaboratively with someone who refused to listen to my ideas, I don’t know what I’d do. Working on a creative project in a group is a really big challenge for me, as I can be a bit of a control freak when it comes to creativity. Because of this, I try to reel myself in as much as possible but I think if I were faced with someone who refused to take me seriously that it would result in a really awful situation for everyone. It’s definitely something I need to work on, but as of right now I’m comfortable in my group and look forward to finishing the project.

  5. The brochure project is going well so far. The last class session was beneficial since we were able to work in our groups for the majority of the time. We made good progress outlining the brochure and made solid plans to continue working on it. We should be able to pick up right where we left off last class and hopefully finish it during class time. We all seem to have equal roles in the process of creating the brochure so far. If we continue to work at the pace we’ve been working at, we should be able to finish on time. However, I think there is room for us to work a little quicker during the time we have to be more efficient.

  6. I am very pleased by the creativity of my group, and the effort in which they all have put in. Our brochure is nearing the final touches, and I couldn’t be more happy with it. I believe we have perfected word choice, segmented our brochure in ideal ways, and have chosen a lovely color scheme that catches the eye and fits the vibe of our app and its purposes. I enjoy collaborating because it’s always amazing what 3 minds can come up with as opposed to 1. I don’t think I would change anything about our process.
I have worked in groups that did not run as smoothly as this project has. In cases like that, where it is difficult to find agreement, I usually sacrifice my own idea as a whole and find sneakier ways to get my ideas heard, used, or implemented.

  7. So far the project is going well, we have mostly workshopped the language of the brochure, however, there are still areas we need to work on. My job is to collect images and put them in as well as wordsmith the language of our brochure. The idea is to make it cohesive and sound better than ever. The one thing we are struggling with is locking down those images as well as figuring out how we want to phrase certain things in order to make the audience interested. The tone is another important factor for us to keep in mind. We want our product to reach teachers, professors, students, hikers, adventurers, etc. So the language has to make sense to all the demographics we are trying to represent. I think the benefits of collaborating with others is seeing your own ideas get critiqued and fixed. That shows improvement, but also getting to listen and see other ideas come forward into the brainstorming process. I think dealing with someone who refuses to listen is interesting because they might have something to say. Letting them speak first will ensure that they get their antics out of the way first. Then you can raise your ideas, however, if that fails there’s not much to do about it. Some people are just like that. Compromization is critical to making sure everyone is happy, but as a leader, you have to be comfortable with everyone not being happy. However, the downside is that makers make sure everyone picks up their fair share of weight, that way the project doesn’t look one-sided. However, my group is great and I see no problems…

  8. This project is going well for my group! It was helpful that we were all on the same page in terms of the product and our vision of an app that embodies safety, environmental sustainability, and a community-building resource. We worked together on creating a logo for the app and then building up our mission and product details to create attention, interest, and desire for the brochure. My role now, after the preliminary steps of working together as a team for the app design and logo, is looking for testimonials and environmental statistics to add to the brochure so we add credibility. By collaborating, we improved on the factors of the app since Mya started up with the idea of carpooling, and then brainstorming together, we came up with the additional element of a buddy system for walking on campus. When we came to some problems, such as the safety of the app itself, we were able to expand our idea and hone in on the idea of it being for college campuses only so we could have student IDs, passwords, etc., that are linked to their specific institutions to help with the security. I wouldn’t change any of our processes as a group – we are very open to new ideas, and working together on even the smallest details has been amazing! Not listening to ideas has definitely not been an issue in my group, but I would say that being able to remain professional and communicate how you aren’t feeling heard is an excellent way to open up the conversation instead of letting those negative feelings build up to where it hinders productivity. Working with different people with different ideas of right or wrong is always difficult, but being able to discuss in a friendly tone that the project is collaborative and everyone should at least be able to give their ideas would be a better way to start.

  9. Our project is going well, I would say. We haven’t devised specific roles per se; we are just at the point where we have the ideas down, and now it’s just a matter of finalizing the design. I think we can improve on our timing and possibly communication, although I personally think our group works well together. I think a benefit of collaboration is the mixing pot of ideas that come together. If all projects were solo, that would be boring and limit room for growth. If I was working with someone who isn’t listening to my ideas I would just put my suggestions out there and leave it up for their interpretation I guess, my view on this is that you cant please everyone.

  10. This brochure project is going well since my group members and I feel creative and have a good sense of how the document should be laid out. My role in this project involves helping form and fine-tune ideas with my groupmates, organizing information on our document, and making sure the brochure is visually appealing. In terms of process, I think I can improve by reminding myself who our audience is to maximize desire and keep in mind that they have never heard of our product before so the goal is to keep them moving through the brochure to learn as much information as possible. As far as collaboration goes, I think I could improve by communicating more with my group outside of class to make sure we’re on the same page and everyone’s happy and feels heard. I think collaboration is beneficial because the project is enhanced by the culmination of everyone’s ideas built off one another, inspiration and creativity are heightened, and individual responsibility is tested. If I were working on a collaborative project for a business and someone wasn’t listening to my ideas, I might try to demonstrate how they could be more effective and see if anyone else agrees, but I wouldn’t get upset or push it if no one likes them. I might also suggest a compromise and/or a longer discussion to hear out everyone’s thoughts.
