  1. This project is going well! Even though I unfortunately missed class on Friday due to a conflict, I was still able to get in touch with my group and discuss what my part would be for the brochure. My role is to get the audience’s interest and attention by creating desire for the product. I would say I could improve by possibly adding more to the panel I am working on and revising it to see if there is anything I should re-word. The benefits to collaboration are listening to ideas you have not thought about before, as well as learning to be open-minded to everyone’s opinions. Also, collaboration can help you become more comfortable with social skills, especially if you have not talked to the group of people before. If I were to deal with someone who was not listening to my ideas in a collaborative project, I would be patient with them and figure out why they were not accepting of my ideas as well as providing a compromise so that we are both contributing equally to the project.

  2. I’d say this project is going well. I’m really excited about the idea our group came up with. We decided that I’d be responsible for panels 2 and 3, along with our logo and product mockup. Making an entire brochure on your own seems intimidating, but collaborating with others to split the workload has made it a lot less stressful. I think the vision started coming together as I began working on my panels and refining the company logo. I think our brochure so far is very clear and is pleasing to the eye. We’ve been communicating through email, making sure to catch Maeve up with all the information she’ll need to do her panel. If someone wasn’t listening to my ideas in a collaborative project, I would try to individually speak with them. Being in a conversation with them would ensure that they hear what I have to say and give us a chance to discuss anything that comes up. I would want to hear their perspective and perhaps why they thought my idea wouldn’t work for the project. Effective communication is vital for any sort of collaboration.

  3. I think our team came up with a pretty good idea! There were lots of good ideas to choose from but the one we agreed on was unique, realistic and potentially necessary. Too bad none of us are engineers! We could be rich! I was assigned the front of the brochure – the things that catches the reader’s attention first. Big expectations. I’m proud of my graphic by making the pod resemble koi in a pond – to play off the pondz idea. I also added – hydration reinvented to explain our odea. No bottles. No bulk!
I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t say that I was a little disappointed that the team didn’t choose my idea or eventual slogan – Be Fond of the Pond – which brought in the idea of the koi in the pond that I used on the image of the pod. But that’s what collaboration means – best ideas win. I’m really happy how we divided the project and worked together to get it done!

  4. After class on Friday, I felt my group was in a good position with our project. We got started on our brochure template and delegated specific pages of the brochure to each member. With the outline I had from the brainstorming process, we started to put together our project developing pages like customer testimonies, a visual of our product, and a logo. I focused on the first and sixth panels to grab attention with the cover and created a call to action and ways to get in contact with our company. I think our group has done a great job of collaborating throughout this process. We were each able to take different aspects of the AIDA model, foster a connection to the product, and apply it to the formula. It was also nice to have the project split up between four different people, it made it feel more manageable and gave everyone a chance to be creative. One thing I would like to work on going forward is clear communication when we work in person. I plan to slow down the way I propose my ideas and ensure everyone is on the same page before we move on to a different topic.

  5. Within our group I believe that our project is going really well. My role within this project was to help with the 6th panel, which is the action part of the brochure. Within this section I will add a qr code with access to the website and links to the companies instagram.

When collaborating with others there are alot of benefits. One of the main ones that is the most helpful to me is bouncing ideas off of eachother. It is also nice to have the opportunity to split up the amount of work you will each do.

Sometimes when working with people they will not like your ideas and they will completely disregard them. To deal with this sometimes you will have to let others of your group take over or if it really upsets you you will have to express that this is a group effort and we have to try our best to use all ideas. In the best case scenario you will also be able to compromise.

  6. The project is going well so far! I have a great team that is prioritizing collaboration. My role is creating pages 4 and 5 (testimonials and building interest/desire). However, that being said, my team has done a fantastic job of carrying the burden. Each member helped in the brainstorming process, artistic design process, language, and writing, as well as with preparing for the final presentation. One massive benefit to collaborating is the ability to brainstorm with people who have other ideas and perspectives. I think it’s fair to say that our product would not be what it is if we didn’t all work together to create it.

  7. The project is going super well! It’s nice to collaborate with some of my classmates to create the best version of a product. Originally, I had thought of a product that helped get laundry done for college students because our group collectively agreed that college students have a common dislike for doing laundry. Through discussing several ideas with my group, we ended up coming up with an even better idea than what I had originally thought of. My role was choosing a template and trying to make our brochure look as pretty as possible for people to be inclined to pick it up off the shelf. In terms of improvement, I think our group could’ve collaborated a bit more on the development of each panel. We chose to assign panels to each group member, and that was our way of having equal contributions from the whole team. I do believe that if we had a little bit more collaboration on this, we could’ve further improved our project. That being said, our group collaborated fantastically and the process of creating improvements in what we did create went very smoothly and there was little conflict or disagreement.

  8. I for one felt that our group handled the work period professionally and we did a good job at making sure we had an efficient plan intact. Kiara was someone that was unable to make it to our first class as a group, but we were able to communicate with her so that we could make sure all of us were on the same page. Jack P was in charge of printing out the brochure and locating the images, Sarah helped design the images and was responsible for the design of panel’s 1 and 6, and I was in charge of the informational parts of our brochure, that being panels 2 and 3. Our group had a really good plan and we communicated effectively. We always made sure to let each other know our ideas and didn’t leave anyone out of the loop. I’d say our communication and teamwork was the highlight of this process.
