Dear Hiring Team at Bergen & Parkinson LLC,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am applying for the position of Legal Assistant at Bergen & Parkinson LLC at the Kennebunk location which I heard about through the Indeed job listing.

I have been working in a form of customer service for multiple years. I have almost five years of food service experience in which I have become extremely comfortable with answering phones and speaking professionally in a fast paced environment. As well as speaking with and helping individuals in person. I have three years of residential advisor experience; where I worked closely with individuals and served their needs. Through the residential advisor position I was also able to gain experience working underneath multiple bosses and between multiple departments at the university. I acted as a go-between for multiple departments and communicated effectively between them via email and in person.

This residential advisor experience helped me to further perfect my organizational skills with the variety of paperwork that was required. My research experience through the aquaculture lab at the University of New England has also helped to hone my organization skills through the organization of data, protocol and field collection documents. This research has made me confident in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint. I have experience briefing cases through classes I have taken at the University of New England and am no stranger to the complexities cases can have. I also have secretarial experience through the UNE Giving Tree Club on my university’s campus. This has helped sharpen my communication skills via email. In this position I also scheduled meetings by working through multiple people’s schedules and commitments.

I have a high school diploma and plan to graduate with my bachelors in Marine Biology in May of this year. I thrive in fast paced environments and have a strong attention to detail. I have a positive attitude and am comfortable working on my own or in groups. I look forward to speaking with you more in depth about the skills I can bring to this position. Thank you for taking the time to consider my application.

RE: New York Times Reporter Fellow, Local Investigations
    Dear Dean Baquet,
I hope this letter finds you well. I learned about the Local Investigations Fellowship through the Illinois Answers Project in March 2024. I am writing to express my strong interest in the program.
With nearly half a decade of experience in local journalism, I am confident that my background aligns with the fellowship’s mission. I have spent four years writing for local newspapers, including a year at The Portland Press Herald, Maine’s daily newspaper, and another year reporting investigative stories for The Maine Monitor. Additionally, I have spent four years running and writing for my university’s student paper, The Bolt. My enclosed resume provides further details on my experience and qualifications.
As the editor of a small college newspaper, I honed my ability to write in-depth news stories with limited time, resources, and guidance. I take pride in holding those in power accountable with the understanding that journalism isn’t just about uncovering truth—it’s about creating space for people to speak, demand change, and be heard.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss my application further in an interview. Please feel free to contact me at (207) 123-4567 or ehedegard@gmail.org to schedule a convenient time.
    Sincerely,

    Good Afternoon, Mrs. Galdwin,

Subject: Application for Portland Drama Supervisor Position

I hope this letter finds you well. My name is John Sonia and I would like to apply to be the Drama Supervisor for your Theater Group in Portland, Maine. I understand that you are looking for someone who is hard working, has experience with technical supervising and theater background, as well as leadership skills and positions, and I believe I am somebody that possesses these necessary skills. I believe that my past experience will help your community thrive and grow, as I really enjoy helping others and working with people with interests that are similar to mine. I do hope that you will consider me for this position, as I completely understand how busy you must be.

I have always had a burning passion and desire for acting and film, and when I was in Middle School, I auditioned for every single one of my school’s plays, as well as became a member of the Drama Club for all three years. When I took part in this incredible experience, I learned how to cooperate with others in a team building environment. Cooperation and teamwork was what our plays thrived on, as we even wrote an entire play from scratch about the changes we are dealt in life and how to deal with them. Many of our monologues come from personal experience, while also putting a creative spin on them to make them stand out in a Drama setting. I understand that your position is asking for somebody with a creative mindset and past experience in an Acting or Drama field, and I possess both of these things. Team building is one of my biggest strengths, as I believe that when a skit, play, film or even one act play are constructed, it takes an entire team. There is no “I” in Drama, and I want these students to know that. Working together is the most effective way to create a toxicity free environment and be welcoming to everyone involved. We all come from different backgrounds, and we must be welcoming towards each other in order to succeed.

I have been an orientation leader at my local high school for 4 years. I have helped plan different community events, recreational uses in public settings and have helped my Drama club craft shows and skits to raise money for different causes. I have also volunteered at certain programs that require team building skill sets and leadership abilities. Because of this, I have received a better understanding of how to properly communicate with a group and lead them to success. Your position is looking for someone with leadership experience and a positive outlook, and I believe that when you are leading or directing a play, you need to learn to have patience, while at the same time being assertive so that the work environment is healthy. Being understanding of potential mistakes, while also aiming for success is the proper way to lead a group to success in the Drama world. I know that this is what makes a strong Drama director.

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to look over this letter, and I do hope you will consider choosing me to lead Springs/One Acts to success. You can contact me using my email address and phone number below. My availability is not limited, so I am able to meet with you at any time that works best for you. I look forward to meeting you in person, and I hope you have a great rest of your day.

    Best Regards,

    Dear James Maguire,

I hope you are well. I would like to submit my application for the position of Store Manager at your Methuen location, as I believe the position would be a fantastic fit for me.

After spending nearly a half a decade working as both a baker, and later a shift lead, at both your South Nashua and Salem locations, I found my job at Crumbl to be something easy to put my all into, as the team is like no other. After leaving my shift lead position to attend college, I have returned during the summers and I enjoy seeing the success of the company. Crumbl was a place that gave me a head start on leadership and communication skills during my teenage years, and I would love the opportunity to come back and lead a store.

    Re: Employee Recreation Attendant,
Dear Xanterra Yellowstone Co-Op Employee Recreation Program,

I don’t know your company’s stance on social media, such as TikTok, but I, for one, am grateful. Why? Because a content creator’s post led me to you! Please accept this letter of application for the Employee Recreation Attendant Position in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. For some context, I grew up in New York and attend college in Maine, where I’m always surrounded by mountains. I have been fortunate enough to travel to California twice and Alaska, where, you guessed it, more mountains. This has become a constant in my life, and I believe with my skills, this is the perfect position.

I attend college at the University of New England and study Communications with a minor in Sociology. I practice public speaking, effective and clear communication, organization of projects, and participate in group work daily. I believe these skills align with the responsibilities of this position, such as the process of promoting and publicizing activities, coordinating Park-wide events, and assisting guests and fellow employees across the park. While the location is a major factor in my desire for this position, I believe my skills and demeanor are ideal for this job.

As seen in my resume, I have a range of leadership experience in various positions, such as Youth Rowing Coach, Teacher Assistant, and customer service industry. These experiences have taught me how to create safe, organized activities while fostering a fun educational experience. Through working with children and coaching crew, I have acquired an outgoing personality, which I find is the best way to make a difference and a lasting impression. With my appreciation for the great outdoors and experience in communication, I strive to combine the two in hopes of assisting the experience of others.

My pursuit of the Employee Recreation Attendant position is intended to further my communication career and strengthen my outdoor experiences. This is an incredible opportunity, and I would welcome an interview to further discuss my qualifications. Please reach out via Email or Phone, and I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your consideration.
